Air Conditioning Systems: Enhancing Quality of Indoor Air and Flow

The most effective and most usual type of cooling down tool purchased throughout the globe is the humble fan. These fans are available in different forms, measurements, color schemes, components, and even designs. Drawings of people making use of fans to cool off and lessen the scorching summertime weather are repeating images you can come across throughout different cultures.

In ancient China, you can envision the emperor surrounded on all sides by enormous fans operated by slaves. And who hasn't seen the picture of the well-known Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, surrounded by women attendants fanning her as she reclines on a luxurious chair standing by for her Anthony? Not willing to be outdone, the ancient Roman civilizations created water passages which transported water through the wall surfaces of select residences to cool the bricks and lower the temperature in their rooms.

Though only the upper-class seemed to have rights to elaborate air-cooling equipment throughout early periods, this isn't the case at present. Fans may still exist (they would always be handy anywhere, at any time) but they have become automated. These days, most homes in warm to temperate environments likewise have air conditioning units to keep inside temperatures comfortable.

Also, an air conditioning unit has several components; though its main components are the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator, and pipes where the refrigerant passes through.

An air conditioning equipment is important in warm areas just like Southern California-- including Inland Empire and Ontario. Summer in these locations can be quite hot, with heat levels getting to ninety degrees. The air conditioning Inland Empire citizens need have to also lessen air humidity as necessary. Dehumidifiers ought to get rid of moisture from the air, which lowers the internal temperature and cools the room better.

Home owners who use air conditioning Ontario service providers offer should also count on their equipment to produce much better air flow. Everyone knows that stagnant and stale indoor air isn't good for one's health. By means of a practical air conditioning system, fresh air is taken in and some used air is removed, which enhances your home's air circulation.

A lot of Ontario air conditioning systems are fitted with filtration systems to cleanse the air by filtering out the unwanted airborne particles. Air refinement filters take out nasty odors and remove germs, mold, and other virulent microbes. These advanced air conditioners do not only give cozy and cool indoor temperatures, they likewise cleanse the room atmosphere, which ensures good health. Four 'low-intensity' blasts shake western Indian city

Four low-intensity blasts hit the western Indian city of Pune on Wednesday, injuring one person, on the same day as a scheduled visit -- cancelled at the last minute -- by the country's new home minister.

Pune Police Commissioner Gopal Rao Pol told AFP that a fifth explosive device had been defused and added that the injured person was being treated as a possible suspect.

Pune was the site of a major bombing in 2010 that killed 17 people and injured dozens more, including a number of foreigners, in a restaurant popular with tourists.

Wednesday's serial blasts, which went off in succession over a 45-minute period beginning shortly after 7:30 pm (1400 GMT), all targeted a bustling restaurant and shopping area in central Pune in the state of Maharashtra.

Indian Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, who only officially took up his duties on Wednesday, told reporters in New Delhi that he had originally been scheduled to attend an event at a theatre in Pune the same evening.

The visit was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.

Shinde told reporters in New Delhi that a team from the federal National Investigation Agency -- created after the 2008 Mumbai attacks to investigate terror-related crimes -- had flown to Pune from the capital.

Police commissioner Pol sought to play down the severity of the incident, suggesting the size of the blasts did not indicate a full-scale terror attack.

"These were minor explosions," he told television reporters on the scene.

"There is no panic in Pune and the police are doing their job. People can carry on their routine work. They don't need to stay at home," he said.

However, Indian Home Secretary R.K. Singh said a terror angle could not be ruled out given the "planned" nature of the blasts.

One of the devices went off in a garbage bin outside a McDonald's fast-food outlet while two others were attached to bicycles, police said.

According to Pol, initial reports suggested the fourth bomb had gone off in a bag carried by the injured man.

"Our police team has gone to interrogate him," he said.

Shahnawaz Hussain, a spokesman for India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, suggested the timing of the blasts -- given the expected visit of the home minister -- had been intended as an "alarm call" for the government.

The February 2010 bombing in Pune had targeted the German Bakery restaurant, a regular hangout for foreign tourists in the city.

It killed 17 people in what was the first major attack on Indian soil since the 2008 Mumbai attacks carried out by Pakistan-based militants that claimed 166 lives.

Although no arrests were made for the restaurant blast, the government said evidence pointed to the involvement of the Indian Mujahideen, a home-grown Islamist group with links to militants in Pakistan.

Baptist leaders call on church to reject racism

JACKSON, Miss. ? Southern Baptist leaders called Monday for a Mississippi church to reject racism after some congregants prevented a black couple from getting married there.

Leaders of the Mississippi Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention said Monday that preventing Charles and Te'Andrea Wilson from marrying at First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs was wrong. Baptist churches are autonomous, so they want the congregation to chart its own course.

Jim Futral, executive director of the Mississippi Baptist Convention board, said the organization was praying for the church and is ready to help. William Perkins, a spokesman for the group, said the church has not contacted state officials.

"Our entire country, and especially here in Mississippi, has been on a long journey for right racial relationships," Futral said in a statement. "Mississippi Baptists both reject racial discrimination and at the same time respect the autonomy of our local churches to deal with difficulties and disagreements under the lordship of Jesus."

Crystal Springs town officials planned a racial unity rally Monday evening.

The Rev. Stan Weatherford, pastor of the church, married the Wilsons earlier this month at a predominantly black church in Crystal Springs, a small town south of Jackson. The wedding was moved to that church after some congregants told Weatherford they opposed allowing black people to marry at the First Baptist Church he leads.

Charles Wilson has said congregants threatened to fire Weatherford, though the pastor has said only that he was trying to make peace and avoid conflict. Some church members said Sunday that they were not consulted and disagreed with the decision to block the wedding.

The Southern Baptist Convention was born in the split between north and south before the Civil War, a split that also occurred in other Protestant denominations. After being slow to reach out across racial lines, Southern Baptists have made increasing efforts in that direction in the past two decades. Nationwide, about 19 percent of 45,000 Southern Baptist churches are majority-minority, including 3,500 that are majority black.

Earlier this year, the convention elected its first black president, the Rev. Fred Luter Jr. of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans. At the same meeting, delegates voted to give churches the option of calling themselves Great Commission Baptist churches, for those who wish to break free of the baggage of the Southern Baptist name and reach more followers.

"We are all saddened when any sin, including the sin of racism, rears its head," said Southern Baptist Convention spokesman Sing Oldham. "Part of our gospel is that we are being redeemed. We are flawed, failed creatures and redemption is a process."

Oldham said "a sizeable number" of Baptist pastors are fired or forced to resign each year in conflicts with church members. Most seminaries teach that pastors should be fired only for moral failure or theological error, but Baptist officials say many ministers are fired for personal conflicts or other reasons.

"Unfortunately, most of the members of the church don't read those books," Oldham said.

North Korea face U.S. in nuclear women's clash

LONDON (Reuters) - North Korea face the United States in an Olympic women's soccer match on Tuesday that will pit the hermit state against the global superpower it has loathed since they fought a Cold War conflict six decades ago.

The hostility is very much a live issue in world diplomacy, with Washington intent on frustrating the North's nuclear armaments ambitions. In 2002, President George W. Bush branded North Korea part of an "axis of evil", along with Iran and Iraq.

The division of the Korean peninsula has already made an impact on the Games after the North Korean women walked off the soccer pitch before a match last week because screens displayed the flag of their South Korean foes.

Rent apart by U.S. and Soviet rivalry after the end of World War Two, the Koreas have never made peace since the capitalist South, backed by the Americans, and the Communist North, aided by China and the Soviets, went to war in 1950-1953.

The South Korean flag blunder by Olympic organizers, before a match against Colombia that the North Koreans went on to win 2-0, brought the political sensitivities to the fore ahead of the highly charged clash against the Americans.

It would be difficult to imagine a sporting contest between two more different nations.

On the one hand, a global economic powerhouse whose cultural influence can be felt across the globe, a society hooked on 24-hour media and the Internet, a land of plenty where the number one threat to public health is the high obesity rate.

On the other, an impenetrable fortress run by a dynasty of dictators, cut off from the rest of the planet by barbed wire and strict controls over any form of communication, an economic disaster zone where millions go short of food.

KCNA, the official North Korean news agency, has set the tone for how sports and politics can mix with an article on Tuesday entitled "Local People Delightful at DPRK Successes in Olympiad". DPRK is the acronym of the North's full name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The article quoted citizens lauding their athletes after North Korea made a strong start in the London Olympics, winning three medals in the first two days.

"HOSTILE FORCES"

"Some evil-minded foreign media asserted that the DPRK would take only one silver medal, but our sportspersons refuted such assertion with good results," said Kim Chon Sok, a department director at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.

"The hostile forces had better try hard to get a correct understanding of the DPRK," said Kim, according to KCNA.

In theory, the Olympics is supposed to be a politics-free zone, but that has never really been the case.

In the early years of the Cold War, Hungary and the Soviet Union faced off in Olympic water polo at the 1956 Games in Melbourne, a month after Soviet troops had violently suppressed a Hungarian uprising against Communist rule.

The clash went down in Olympic lore as the "blood in the water" match after a Soviet player punched a Hungarian rival, drawing blood. The crowd reacted so furiously that the match was suspended. Hungary had been leading and were awarded victory. They went on to win the gold medal.

Organizers of London 2012 will be hoping that nothing quite as dramatic happens at Old Trafford, home of Premier League club Manchester United, on Tuesday.

The American women's soccer team, bidding for a third consecutive Olympic gold medal, have already secured their place in the knock-out phase of the tournament with victories over Colombia and France.

They go into the North Korean match as firm favorites and have little at stake beyond avoiding an embarrassing slip that would undoubtedly generate acres of mocking newsprint.

But the picture is very different for the North Korean players, who carry the hopes of a country where unsuccessful athletes risk rather more than bad headlines.

The North Korean men's soccer team were subjected to six hours of public "ideological criticism" in Pyongyang after they returned without a win from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, according to Radio Free Asia, a Western-influenced, pro-democracy broadcaster.

South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo has quoted an intelligence source as saying that in the past, North Korean athletes who performed badly were sent to prison camps.

But Jong Tae-se, a Japan-born North Korean striker known to home fans as "the People's Rooney" for his similarities to the England striker, denied on a South Korean TV talk show that North Korean athletes paid for defeat with their freedom.

REVISITING 1966?

On the upside, talented North Korean athletes can earn perks for themselves and their families in a country where most people live in dire poverty in the famine-ravaged countryside.

"Families (of footballers) are said to have moved to the best apartments of athletes in Pyongyang," Joo Sung-ha, a North Korean defector who now works for major South Korean newspaper Dong-A Ilbo, said on his blog in 2010, ahead of the World Cup.

"Especially, thanks to their sons, families from rural regions also obtained Pyongyang citizenship which is like ask for the moon. This shows soccer is the most popular sport where the country is putting its most efforts."

The North Korean women's team have a relatively distinguished record, having won the 2008 Asian Football Confederation's tournament. But they were caught up in scandal at the 2011 women's World Cup in Germany, where five of the players tested positive for banned steroids.

North Korean officials said at the time that players had taken some traditional Chinese medication based on musk deer glands to help them recover from a lighting strike during a training match in North Korea weeks before the tournament.

The North Korean men's team had already claimed their place in sporting history with a win over Italy in the 1966 World Cup. Italy were considered favorites until North Korea scored to earn a 1-0 win in Middlesborough, northeast England.

Days later, North Korea almost pulled off another huge upset when they swept to a 3-0 lead over Portugal after 25 minutes, but they eventually lost their quarter-final 5-3.

Cultural links have remained in place between Middlesbrough and North Korea ever since 1966. An opera company based in the Middlesbrough area has performed in North Korea, and veterans from the North Korean team of 1966 have returned for visits.

PFT: Hasselbeck, Locker alternating reps at camp

    Father-and-Son

With defensive coordinator Gregg Williams suspended indefinitely and no other person holding the title even on an interim basis and with the Rams putting on the pads Sunday for the first time in the Jeff Fisher era, an important question remains.

    Who?s running the defense?

The coaching staff has three men who have held the ?defensive coordinator? title at the NFL level:? Fisher, assistant head coach Dave McGinnis, and secondary coach Chuck Cecil.

But the defense being installed is the Gregg Williams defense.? So who?s in best position to actually implement it?

It?s possibly linebackers coach Blake Williams.? As in the son of Gregg Williams.

Linebacker James Laurinaitis recently explained that, to date, it?s been a committee approach when it comes to coaching the defense.? But the only coach Laurinaitis mentioned by name was Blake Williams.

?A different [day] in practice it?ll be a different guy calling the plays,? Laurinaitis told 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, via SportsRadioInterviews.com.? ?We have Blake Williams, Gregg Williams? son, and he kind of grew up in this defense.? It?s safe to say that on some of the modifications of Gregg Williams? defense over the years has been because of Blake and his intelligence.?

And here?s where a cynic would wonder, as some in league circles have, whether Blake Williams will be serving as a surrogate for Gregg Williams in 2012.? Yeah, Gregg Williams is suspended and he can?t talk to anyone from the team.? But he surely can talk to his own son ? and unless the league office will be monitoring those communications, Gregg Williams can share thoughts with his son regarding how his son is doing his job.

In theory, father and son also can get together from time to time.? Dinner, for example, once or twice a week.? Absent supervision from 345 Park Avenue, what?s to keep them from working to put together a game plan for the upcoming game?

We?re not saying it will happen.? And we take no position on whether it would be justified by the league?s arguable overreaction to the Saints? pay-for-performance system.

The point is that, with no one identified as the interim defensive coordinator and with the son of the defensive coordinator on the coaching staff, the Rams (if everyone is discreet) can still find a way to get the benefit of Gregg Williams? insights, ideas, and strategies.
